Guided tours of each page
A short walkthrough appears the first time you open a dashboard page, and you can replay it any time from the compass button in the top bar.
The first time you open one of the main dashboard pages, a small card appears and walks you through it. It dims the page, points at one thing at a time, and tells you in plain words what it is for.
Most tours are a handful of steps and take under a minute. Pages built out of tabs get one short step per tab, because the question people actually have is "which of these do I use?".
Which pages have a tour
| Page | What the tour covers |
|---|---|
| The agent's home page | Whether your agent is live, where its activity appears, and the two things to do next |
| Inbox | Filtering by channel, reading a conversation, and replying yourself |
| Training data | Every tab explained: Website, Files, Text, Instant Answers, Media, and Products |
| Integrations | What you can connect, and how to tell what is already working |
| Functions | What a Function is for, your plan's limit, the four ways to set one up, and what the Activity view shows |
| Appearance | Every tab explained: Brand, Display, Chat, Proactive, AI rules, and Email, plus the live preview |
| Install | Your install code, the launcher and opening screen choices, checking it worked, and the optional sections below |
More pages will get a tour over time. A page without one simply never shows a card.
Training data, tab by tab
The tour names each way of teaching your agent so you can pick the easiest one:
- Website reads your web pages for you. The quickest way to start.
- Files takes documents and spreadsheets, for price lists and policies.
- Text is for anything not written down anywhere yet.
- Instant Answers lets you write the exact reply to a common question, so your agent uses your words rather than its own.
- Media holds pictures and videos your agent can send during a chat.
- Products appears only for agents with a connected store, and fills itself in from your shop.
Functions
Functions are the hardest part of the product to work out on your own, so this tour starts with what they are for: letting your agent look something up in your own systems mid-chat, such as an order status or whether an item is in stock, and answer with the real number instead of a guess.
It then covers:
- The two views. Functions lists what you have connected. Activity shows how often your agent used each one and whether it worked.
- Your plan's limit, and how many you have left.
- The four ways to set one up: describe your API in plain words and we build it, connect an MCP server, pick a ready-made one for a tool like Calendly or Stripe, or fill it in yourself.
- What the buttons on each Function card do: try it out, pause it, change it, or remove it.
The tour adjusts to your account. If Functions are not on your plan yet it explains that instead of walking you through parts you cannot reach, and on a plan that includes them it skips the list of Functions until you have one.
Appearance, tab by tab
- Brand is your agent's name, your colours, and its icon.
- Display controls which pages and devices the chat appears on.
- Chat sets the greeting and the ready-made questions people can tap.
- Proactive sends messages on their own after a while.
- AI rules shape how your agent behaves and what it will not discuss.
- Email puts your branding on the emails your customers receive.
Install, including the parts people miss
Below the three numbered steps are sections that stay closed until you open them, so the tour points them out:
- Launcher style and opening screen decide whether the chat is a corner bubble or a search bar, and whether it opens on a welcome screen or straight into the conversation.
- Visitor identity lets your agent greet signed-in customers by name and shows you whose chat is whose.
- Developer options cover opening the chat from your own buttons, placing it inside a page instead of a corner bubble, and changing its size and position.
- Need help installing? sends your website address to our team so we add the widget for you.
Moving through a tour
- Next moves on. Back returns to the step before.
- Skip or the X in the corner closes the tour.
- On the last step, Got it finishes it.
- You can also use the right and left arrow keys to move, and Esc to close.
The dots on the card show how many steps there are and which one you are on, so you always know how much is left. A tour with only one step shows no dots.
While a tour is open, the rest of the page is dimmed and does not respond to clicks. This is on purpose: it keeps the tour and the page in step with each other. Close the tour whenever you want to carry on.
Seeing a tour again
Look for the compass button in the top bar, next to the notification bell. Select it to replay the tour for the page you are on, as many times as you like.
The button only appears on pages that have a tour, and it hides while a tour is already running.
When tours appear, and when they do not
A tour runs once per page, not once per visit. After you finish or skip it, it does not come back on its own.
Tours are remembered against your login, not your computer, so a tour you have already seen on your laptop will not run again on your phone.
A tour also holds back when:
- A pop-up window or side panel is already open. It would cover the tour.
- The page is still loading. The tour waits for the real content so it never points at an empty placeholder.
- Nothing the tour describes is on the page yet, for example a section that only appears once you connect a store. Those steps are left out, and if none of them apply the tour waits for another visit rather than using itself up.
Troubleshooting
A tour did not appear on a page I have never opened. It waits for the page to finish loading, so give it a moment. If the page is showing an error, or you do not have permission to see the part the tour describes, no card appears. Use the compass button in the top bar to start it yourself.
There is no compass button in the top bar. That page does not have a tour yet. The button is deliberately hidden rather than shown and doing nothing.
A tour was shorter than I expected. Each tour checks what is on your page before it starts and leaves out anything that is not there, so the step count you see is the number of steps you will actually get. This is normal on a new agent, where sections such as store products or connected channels do not exist yet. Replay the tour later with the compass button and the extra steps will be included. On a narrow window some panels are hidden, so a tour can be shorter there than on a wide screen.
A tour keeps coming back. This usually means your browser cannot save anything, which happens in private or incognito windows and when site data is blocked for Fetchply. Sign in in a normal window, finish the tour once, and it will stay closed.
A tour I already finished ran again. After a page is redesigned, its tour is refreshed so the walkthrough matches what you are now looking at. It runs once more and then stops for good.
The tour card is covering the thing it is describing. On a narrow screen the card moves to the bottom of the window so it stays out of the way. If it still overlaps, close the tour, widen the window, and replay it with the compass button.
Nothing on the page responds while a tour is open. That is expected. Select Skip, the X, or press Esc to close it, and the page works normally again.
I closed a tour in one tab and it is still open in another. Move to the other tab and it will have closed itself. Refresh that tab if it has not.
