The Inbox
The Inbox is your real-time chat management center. From Dashboard → Agent → Inbox, you can:
- See all conversations in a searchable list
- Filter by channel (Widget, WhatsApp, Instagram, Slack)
- Filter to show only unread messages or conversations needing attention
- View the full message history with timestamps
- Reply directly to visitors as a live person
Supported Channels

All channels use the same knowledge — your agent gives consistent answers no matter where the conversation happens.
Conversation View
When you open a conversation, you'll see:
- Full message thread with messages from both the visitor and your agent
- Channel badge showing where the conversation started
- Visitor info — name, email, and location when captured
- Action events — when leads were captured or other automated actions happened
- Typing indicators — see when a visitor is typing
Agent Availability
At the top of the Inbox, you can set your status:
- Online — your agent responds automatically. Conversations flow normally.
- Away — your agent pauses for that chatbot. Use this when you want to step in personally.
You can also turn on browser notifications to get desktop alerts when new messages arrive, even when you're on another tab.
Agent Takeover (Live Chat)
When you reply to a conversation from the Inbox:
- The AI agent pauses — it stops responding automatically for that conversation
- You can reply directly from the Inbox as a live person
- When you're done, the AI agent resumes automatically
This works across all channels — widget, WhatsApp, Instagram, and Slack.
Conversation Actions
From the conversation view, you can:
- Reply as a live person
- Assign the conversation to a specific team member
Team permissions control who can view and reply to conversations. The conversations.reply permission is needed for live agent responses.
Retraining
Refresh your free AI chatbot's knowledge manually or on a schedule. Keep answers current as your website changes. Manual retrain is free on all plans.
Support Tickets
Your free AI chatbot can create support tickets from conversations. Track issues, manage status, and follow up — all from your Fetchply dashboard. Free on all plans.
