Import Notion and Google Docs
Train an agent on shared Notion pages and Google Docs by pasting a link, and keep them in sync with retraining.
If your policies, FAQs, or internal guides live in Notion or Google Docs, you can train an agent on them by pasting a link. The page is read like any other link source, and it is re-read on your retraining schedule, so edits in Notion or Google Docs flow into your agent automatically.
Import a Notion page
Publish the page in Notion
Open the page in Notion, select Share, and turn on Publish. Copy the public link; it ends in notion.site.
Paste the link in Fetchply
Open Training Data → Website, choose the Notion & Google Docs tab, paste the link, and select Import doc.
Links copied with Notion's regular Copy link button point at the signed-in Notion app and cannot be read. Use the public link from Share → Publish instead.
Import a Google Doc
Share the document
In Google Docs, select Share and set access to Anyone with the link (Viewer is enough). Publishing to the web (File → Share → Publish to web) also works.
Paste the link in Fetchply
Open Training Data → Website, choose the Notion & Google Docs tab, paste the link, and select Import doc.
Imported pages appear alongside your other link sources with the same Processing, Indexed, and Failed statuses.
Keep imports up to date
Imported pages are re-read whenever the agent retrains. Set a retraining schedule so changes made in Notion or Google Docs reach your agent without manual work, or retrain the source manually after a big edit.
Troubleshooting
- "This Notion link requires signing in": the page has not been published. In Notion, open Share, turn on Publish, and paste the new link that ends in
notion.site. - A Google Docs import failed or indexed nothing: check the document is shared with Anyone with the link. Documents restricted to specific people cannot be read.
- Google Sheets, Slides, or Forms links are rejected: only Google Docs documents can be imported by link. Export spreadsheets or slides as a file (for example XLSX or PDF) and upload it in the Files tab.
- Google Drive links are rejected: Drive file links open a viewer that cannot be read. Download the file and upload it in the Files tab, or paste the document's
docs.google.comlink. - The page changed but the agent still gives old answers: the import updates on your retraining schedule. Retrain the agent, or wait for the next scheduled retrain.
- You unpublished or restricted the page: the next retrain will fail for that source. Re-publish the page or delete the source if you no longer want the agent to use it.
