Instagram Integration

Connect your Fetchply agent to Instagram — auto-reply to DMs, comments, and story mentions.

Overview

The Instagram integration lets your agent respond to Direct Messages, comments, and story mentions on your Instagram Business or Creator account.

Requires the Starter plan or above and an Instagram Business or Creator account connected to a Meta Business account.

Setup

Prerequisites

  • Instagram Business or Creator account
  • Connected to a Facebook Page
  • Meta Business account (business.facebook.com)

Connect Instagram

Go to Dashboard → Your Agent → Settings → Integrations → Instagram.

Click Connect Instagram. You'll be redirected to Instagram to authorize Fetchply:

  1. Log in with your Instagram credentials
  2. Grant Fetchply permission to read and reply to messages
  3. You're redirected back to Fetchply

Verify Connection

The settings page shows:

  • Connected Instagram username
  • Account ID
  • Webhook configuration status
  • Token expiry date

Message Types

Direct Messages (DMs)

When someone sends your account a DM, your agent:

  1. Receives the message via webhook
  2. Searches the knowledge base for context
  3. Generates an AI response
  4. Sends the reply as a DM

Comment Replies

When someone comments on your post:

  1. Your agent detects the comment
  2. Generates a relevant response
  3. Sends a private reply (DM) to the commenter

Comment replies are sent as DMs, not as public comment replies. This keeps conversations private and allows for longer, more helpful responses.

Story Mentions

When someone mentions your account in their story:

  1. Your agent receives the notification
  2. Sends a friendly DM to the person who mentioned you

Token Management

Instagram access tokens expire after 60 days. Fetchply automatically refreshes tokens before they expire — no manual action needed.

Token refresh runs automatically. If a refresh fails, you'll see a warning in the integration settings.

Disconnecting

Click Disconnect in the Instagram settings. Message processing stops immediately. Past conversations remain in your dashboard.
