Connect Facebook Messenger

Connect one Facebook Page, test Messenger replies, and safely reconnect or disconnect it.

Connect the Facebook Page your customers message. Your agent answers new Messenger conversations for that Page using its trained knowledge.

Start the connection

Open Integrations → Facebook Messenger and choose Connect Messenger. Sign in with a Facebook account that manages the Page and approve the requested access.

Select exactly one Page

During sign-in, Facebook asks which Pages to share. Select only the Page this agent should answer for. If more than one Page is shared, the connection stops and asks you to restart and pick a single Page.

Confirm the connected Page

Return to the integration page and verify the intended Page is shown as connected.

Send a test message

Message the Page from a Facebook account that does not manage it. Confirm the reply arrives in Messenger and the conversation appears in Inbox → Messenger.

Disconnecting stops Messenger replies for this agent and removes the stored connection. It does not delete your Facebook Page or its conversation history on Facebook.

How replies work

Your agent answers each new customer message using the same trained sources, instructions, and tools as your other channels. Replies are plain text with optional tap-to-answer choices; when a conversation needs a person, a teammate can take over from the Fetchply inbox and reply there.

Typing indicator

While your agent prepares an answer, Messenger shows a "typing…" indicator so the person knows a reply is coming. This happens automatically and needs no setup. If a reply cannot be prepared (for example, the agent is turned off or outside its serving hours), no typing indicator is shown.

Voice messages

When someone sends a voice message, Fetchply writes out what they said so your agent can answer it like any other message, and attaches the original recording to that message in the inbox so you can play it back. Voice messages work best in English and Urdu.

Teammates can also reply with voice from the inbox: record the message in the composer and it is delivered to the customer as a playable audio message in Messenger, alongside any text you typed. If a recording cannot be prepared for Messenger, you are told immediately so you can send the reply as text or record it again.

The 24-hour reply window

Messenger allows a business to reply for up to 24 hours after a customer's most recent message. Your agent always answers right away, so this rarely matters for automatic replies. It does matter for teammates replying from the inbox: once a Messenger conversation has been quiet for more than 24 hours, a new reply cannot be delivered until the customer messages again. The inbox tells you when this happens.

Troubleshooting

A reply from the inbox was refused after a day

Messenger closes the conversation to business replies 24 hours after the customer's latest message. Wait for the customer to write again; the conversation reopens the moment their new message arrives.

Connection status cannot be loaded

Check your internet connection, then select Try again. Fetchply does not mark the Page as disconnected or change its setup when this check fails. Wait briefly and retry before reconnecting.

The connection failed because several Pages were shared

Restart the connection and, on the Facebook screen that lists your Pages, select only the Page this agent should answer for. Each agent serves a single Page.

Replies suddenly stopped

Open the integration page and check the status. The connection can end when Facebook access is revoked, the Page is removed, or the connecting account loses Page access. Reconnect the Page and send a new test message.

The same Page was connected to another agent

Connecting a Page moves it: the previous agent's Messenger connection is removed and this agent takes over new messages. Reconnect the Page on whichever agent should answer it.
