Slack Integration
Add your Fetchply agent to Slack — it responds to @mentions in your channels.
Overview
The Slack integration adds your Fetchply agent as a bot in your Slack workspace. When someone @mentions the bot in a channel, it responds with an AI-generated answer in a thread.
Setup
Navigate to Slack Settings
Go to Dashboard → Your Agent → Settings → Integrations → Slack.
Add to Slack
Click Add to Slack. You'll be redirected to Slack to authorize the bot:
- Choose the Slack workspace to install in
- Review the permissions Fetchply needs
- Click Allow
- You're redirected back to Fetchply
Invite the Bot to Channels
After installing, invite the bot to any channel where you want it active:
/invite @FetchplyThe bot only responds in channels it's been invited to.
How It Works
- A team member @mentions the bot in a channel:
@Fetchply what's our refund policy? - The bot searches your agent's knowledge base
- An AI response is generated
- The bot replies in a thread under the original message
Why Threads?
Thread replies keep channels clean. The bot's response appears nested under the question, so it doesn't clutter the main conversation flow.
Features
- @mention responses — only responds when explicitly mentioned
- In-thread replies — keeps channels organized
- Full RAG pipeline — same knowledge base and AI quality as the widget
- Conversation history — Slack conversations appear in your Fetchply dashboard
- Lead capture — Slack user info can be captured as leads
The bot strips the @mention from the message before processing, so "What's our refund policy?" is the actual query sent to the AI.
Connected State
After connecting, the settings page shows:
- Workspace name
- Team ID
- Bot user ID
- Connection status
Disconnecting
Click Disconnect in the Slack settings to remove the bot. It will no longer respond to mentions. To fully remove it from Slack, also uninstall the Fetchply app from your Slack workspace settings.
