WhatsApp Integration

Connect your Fetchply agent to WhatsApp — automatically reply to customer messages with AI.

Overview

The WhatsApp integration connects your agent to the WhatsApp Business Platform. When someone messages your WhatsApp number, your agent replies automatically using the same knowledge base and AI pipeline as the website widget.

Requires the Starter plan or above and a Meta Business account.

Setup

Prerequisites

Before connecting, make sure you have:

  • A Meta Business account (business.facebook.com)
  • A phone number eligible for WhatsApp Business (not already registered on WhatsApp)
  • A Fetchply agent that's been trained

Go to Dashboard → Your Agent → Settings → Integrations → WhatsApp.

Start the Connection

Click Connect WhatsApp. This launches the Meta Embedded Signup flow:

  1. Log in with your Meta Business account
  2. Create or select your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA)
  3. Choose or register a phone number
  4. Authorize Fetchply to send and receive messages

The setup completes automatically once you authorize.

Verify Connection

After connecting, the settings page shows:

  • Connected phone number
  • WhatsApp Business Account ID
  • Connection status
  • Webhook URL (automatically configured)

How It Works

  1. A customer sends a message to your WhatsApp number
  2. WhatsApp delivers the message to Fetchply via webhook
  3. Your agent searches its knowledge base for relevant content
  4. An AI response is generated and sent back as a WhatsApp reply
  5. The conversation is logged in your dashboard

  • Lead capture — visitor phone numbers are automatically captured
  • Message quota — WhatsApp messages count toward your plan's message limit

Disconnecting

Go to the WhatsApp settings page and click Disconnect. This stops message processing immediately. Past conversations remain in your dashboard.

Disconnecting does not delete your WhatsApp Business Account on Meta. You can reconnect at any time.

On this page
