Overview
A proactive campaign pairs a page target with a message and a delay. When a visitor stays on a matching page past the delay, the widget shows the message next to the launcher. One click opens the chat with that message as the agent’s opener, and the visitor can reply immediately.
Context is what makes the difference. A visitor on your pricing page gets “Not sure which plan fits? I can help you compare” instead of a generic greeting, because each campaign targets pages by their address. Priorities decide which campaign wins when several match the same page.
Campaigns are deliberately polite: a visitor sees at most one message per page visit, dismissing a message hides that campaign for good on their browser, and a shown message waits a day before reappearing. Impression and click counts on every campaign show which nudges actually start conversations.
How it works
- 1
Create a campaign
On the Proactive tab of the widget customizer, write the message and choose which pages it targets by URL.
- 2
Set the timing
Pick how many seconds a visitor stays on a matching page before the message appears, from 3 seconds to 10 minutes.
- 3
The widget makes the first move
After the delay, the message appears next to the launcher. Clicking it opens the chat with your message as the agent’s opener.
- 4
Measure and refine
Each campaign counts how often it was shown and clicked, so you can pause weak campaigns and sharpen the wording of strong ones.

Frequently asked questions
Is this just a pop-up?
No. The message is a small nudge next to the chat launcher, not an overlay that blocks the page, and it only appears after the visitor has dwelled on a matching page. Clicking it starts a real conversation with your agent.
Will visitors get spammed with messages?
No. At most one proactive message appears per page visit, a dismissed campaign never shows again on that browser, and a shown campaign waits a day before it can reappear.
Can different pages get different messages?
Yes, that is the point. Each campaign targets pages whose address contains a text you choose, so product pages, pricing, and the homepage each get their own opener. Priorities resolve overlaps.
How do I know if a campaign works?
Every campaign shows how many times its message was shown and how many times visitors clicked it. Pause campaigns with low clicks and iterate on the message wording.
