Overview
Shoppers rarely ask for a product by its exact name. They describe a problem, a budget, or a preference, and expect someone to translate that into options. Fetchply does that translation with your live catalog data, so the answer is grounded in what you actually sell and what is actually in stock.
On Shopify the agent also sees the storefront context: the pages a visitor viewed and the current cart contents, including applied discounts. That lets it recommend items that fit what the shopper is already considering instead of guessing from the question alone.
If you sell outside Shopify or WooCommerce, the built-in catalog gives the agent the same grounding. Add products with names, prices, images, SKUs, and stock directly in the dashboard and recommendations work the same way.
How it works
- 1
Connect a product source
Install the Shopify app, connect WooCommerce with REST credentials, or add products to the built-in catalog in the dashboard.
- 2
The agent searches live data
When a shopper describes what they need, the agent queries the catalog during the conversation and picks matching products.
- 3
Products render in the chat
Recommendations appear as product cards with image, price, and a link, on the widget and on connected channels.
- 4
Tune what is eligible
Control currency, categories, and whether draft products are included, so the agent only offers what you want sold.

- The built-in catalog covers stores that run outside Shopify and WooCommerce.
- Product nodes inside Guided Flows show the same live catalog products.
- One store connection per agent keeps answers scoped to the right catalog.
Frequently asked questions
Does the agent invent products or prices?
No. Recommendations are pulled from the connected catalog at conversation time. If a product is not in your catalog, the agent cannot offer it.
What happens when a product goes out of stock?
The agent reads current stock from the catalog, so out-of-stock items stop being recommended without any manual cleanup.
Can I use this without an ecommerce platform?
Yes. The built-in catalog lets you add products directly in the dashboard, and recommendations work the same way on every channel.
Do recommendations work inside Guided Flows?
Yes. Product nodes in a Guided Flow present live catalog products, so a scripted flow can end in a concrete product suggestion.
